When it comes to starting the planning process for your Wedding, what comes first?

The first thing most people may ask you is, 'Have you set a date'?

It's the most popular question, but setting a date can only be an intangible wish until you have a few other details sorted.

Research has shown that number 1 on the job list is to find a Location you love, to be able to see if that date is available for you. On deciding your location - there are so many things to consider, including, but by no means limited to : What vibe are you after? How many people do you plan to invite? Where will they all stay? Answering these things will help you make the right choice regarding your venue.

Second on that list is a Caterer. Again your venue may be able to do the catering themselves, however, if you are planning a Country themed wedding in the paddock of a friends property, just as a random but fab Wedding location, how will you feed your guests, finger food - preprepared? a sit down dinner? food trucks? - and the big question - will they be available on your date?

Next decision, according to research, is the choice of a Wedding Planner, though many people in recent times are forgoing this luxury and DYI - ing it. A Wedding Planner is a wonderful luxury if you can afford it. Someone with experience to do the leg work and the vast majority of the preparation for you, however is it the one thing one this list of Top 4 items to lock in, that you can do without.

And number 4 - my personal favourite is the Marriage Celebrant. Someone you definitely cannot do without. It's important to remember that choosing the right celebrant for you is incredibly important. The right celebrant will take the time to get to know you both as a couple to be able to create a ceremony that is authentically yours and not just some cookie cutter version of a Wedding. Once you feel you have the right fit, then you can locking the date. And remember it's always smart to book as far in advance as is possible.

Next week, we will be talking about Wedding Themes - what's been popular and what are the upcoming trends for 2024. And remember we are now taking bookings for 2024 and even into 2025, so I'd love to hear from you. Until then, lots of love,
